Exploring the Art of Perspective Through AI-Assisted Imagery
I began exploring the creation of photographic images using tools like Midjourney, Dall-E, and other Artificial Intelligence platforms. The initial aspect I focused on was the camera angle. Why? Because it represents one of the fundamental principles in photography, and it alone can facilitate the creation of captivating images.
Now, let’s discuss the rules of this experiment. I composed a list of 20 distinct camera angles, which are detailed below. For each angle, I generated images using a consistent format for the prompts:

The term ‘style raw’ instructs the AI to interpret the prompt in a straightforward, literal manner. Additionally, the image format can be altered to switch the orientation from horizontal to vertical.
Finally, before delving into the prompts and images, there’s one more aspect to mention: I have used the thread series by Cognitive Pulse on this subject as a foundational reference for this project.

Camera Angles
- Macro: Extreme close-up shots, typically of very small subjects.
- Headshot: Focuses on the person’s face, often used in professional settings.
- Glamour Shot: A style of portrait with a focus on the subject’s appearance.
- Portrait: Captures the personality or mood of a subject.
- Medium Shot: Cuts off around the waist, showing some background.
- Full Body: Includes the entire body of the subject.
- Low Angle: Shot from a lower point, looking up at the subject.
- High Angle: Taken from a higher point, looking down on the subject.
- Wide: Shows a broader view or landscape.
- Ultra Wide: Even wider than a standard wide shot, often panoramic.
- Drone View: Captured from a drone, offering unique, high perspectives.
- Aerial Shot: Similar to drone, taken from an aircraft or high elevation.
- Bird-eye View: Directly overhead, looking straight down.
- Dutch Tilt: The camera is tilted to create a disorienting effect.
- Oblique Angle: Similar to Dutch tilt, involves a slanted approach.
- Point of View (POV): Shows the perspective of a character.
- Side View: The subject is viewed from the side.
- Shoulder Level Shot: Taken from the level of the subject’s shoulder.
- Overhead Shot: Looking down from above, but not as extreme as bird-eye view.
- Diagonal Angle Shot: The camera is angled diagonally for dynamic composition.
